What are Express Entry Aligned Programs?

Express Entry Aligned Programs (also called Enhanced PNP streams) are Provincial Nominee Program streams that are directly linked to the federal Express Entry system. When a province nominates a candidate through an aligned stream, the nominee receives 600 additional CRS points in their Express Entry profile.

Why It Matters for Newcomers

These aligned streams combine the benefits of provincial nomination with the speed of Express Entry processing. With 600 additional CRS points, you are virtually guaranteed to receive an Invitation to Apply in the next Express Entry draw, and your application is processed within the standard Express Entry timeline of six months.

How It Works

Each province has its own criteria for Enhanced PNP streams. Some provinces search Express Entry profiles directly and issue Notifications of Interest to qualified candidates. Others require you to apply to the provincial stream first. Once nominated, the 600 points are automatically added to your CRS score.

Quick Tip

If your CRS score is below the typical cut-off, targeting a province with an Express Entry aligned stream that matches your profile is one of the most effective strategies to secure permanent residence.
